Drawing inspiration from nineteenth century illustrations of the underside of Giant Amazonian waterlily leaves, Nymphae is a suspended steel installation where the forms oscillate and become animated, moving together in communion. Using ceramic sculpting tools, the mesh is manipulated to create an impression of three dimensionality, overlapping the translucent material to create gradients of shading reminiscent of an ink painting.
